Contractor arrested for taking money for unfinished work

A Greensboro contractor is in jail for walking off an unfinished job after being paid.
Police arrested Michael Lineberry last night. Authorities say Lineberry has numerous convictions ranging from theft to fraudulent business practices.
Now, he's charged with failure to finish a construction project at Friendly Nails in the Quaker Shopping Village. The formal name of the charge is Failure to Provide Services after Paid.
Greensboro Chief Building Inspector David Jones says the problem is that people pay too much money up front. He says consumers should never pay for work that isn't complete, and that they should make sure the contractor has a working permit.
Records show Lineberry has at least 15 prior convictions.
